Laura Wilkinson Golden Invitational

 

Laura Wilkinson is an inspiration to all divers. Several times Senior National Champion, FINA Champion, World Cup Champion, GOLD MEDALIST in the platform event at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia, and 2004 Olympian in Athens, Greece.

 

 

As new divers move their way up in the sport of diving there will be a time when they experience the thrill of participating in the Zones or Nationals competition.

 

The Meet is now getting to be known, throughout the diving community as THE NOVICE NATIONALS! We offer all the participants of the Laura Wilkinson Golden Novice Invitational the experience of what a “big” meet is all about. This meet is treated as if it were a National Meet. We hope this will give everyone a glimpse of what the future will be for them and will make them love the sport a little bit more.

 

During This Olympic year…

-                   ATHLETES, PARENTS AND COACHES SOCIAL (Same as you can find at all Junior and Senior National meets!!!!)

-                   Pre-ordered meet T-shirts will have the names of the divers on the back of the shirt AND will be autographed by Laura.

-                   Surprise your diver with a “good luck message and picture” in the meet program.

Directions:                           The WAC is located 25 miles north of Bush Intercontinental Airport. Go south on John F. Kennedy Blvd.  Turn right onto ramp for the Hardy Toll Road. Go north on the Hardy Toll Road to Woodlands Parkway exit.  Go over the freeway onto Woodlands Parkway. Take Grogan’s Mill RD exit.  Turn left onto Grogan’s Mill RD to South Millbend.  Turn right and look for WAC sign on the right.

 

Facility:                                 The pool is 16-18 feet deep with two 1m and two 3m Maxi-Flex (modified model B) boards.  This is an outdoor facility.

 

Entry Fee:                             $20.00 per event.  There will be a $10.00 late fee.

Registration:                       Friday, April 11, 2008 – 3:00-6:00pm

Saturday, April 12, 2008 – Opens at 6:15am 

The registration table will be located near the diving pool.  

All divers and coaches must check in.

All divers and coaches must have a current AAU registration number.

 

Dive Sheets:                        All dive sheets should be mailed in with the registration. Changes can be made on deck up to 1 hour before competition. 

 

Awards:                                Medals for All participants

 

Concessions:                      Food all Day, snow cones, meet T-shirts, action pictures printed on site, Sammys, Raffle. Checks welcome (no credit cards, but an ATM is located right next to the pool)

 

Hospitality:                           Coaches hospitality will be available. Coaches will need our special tags to access the hospitality.

4. Hurdle starting one step back w/ arms and knee up into front jump straight w/ no press (100A)

5. 3 or 4 steps and hurdle starting w/ arms up and no press into front jump straight (100A)
